Salesforce Setup Wizard
Pre-Requisites
- You have downloaded the DataGuard Application for Salesforce.
- You have received your DataGuard API credentials via email
Note: Once the following steps have been completed, all new leads and contacts created on Salesforce will automatically be created on DataGuard.
Opening The DataGuard Application
Open the DataGuard Application from the Salesforce App Launcher and select the DataGuard Administration tab.
Connect To DataGuard
Choose the DataGuard environment labelled 'Sandbox' and enter your API Client ID & Secret received in the DataGuard Setup email.
Click the ‘Validate Credentials’ button to verify connectivity with the DataGuard Platform. Once validated, click the ‘Next’ button.
Application ID
Now you need to enter your Application ID supplied in the DataGuard setup email, and confirm your external reference fields.
NOTE The Source System values specified in this page cannot be removed once specified. The default values of Salesforce & SF will be applied, but can be removed by deleting before clicking "Retrieve Matrix".
Source System Name is used to identify the source of transactions within DataGuard, but is not mandatory.
The Source System Reference is prefixed to the Salesforce ID when creating citizen records within DataGuard (i.e. if Salesforce ID = abc & Source System Reference, Citizen ref = SFabc)
Apply Display Labels
For each DataGuard Permission Option, you are able to choose how this is displayed in Salesforce. This label will be used in Salesforce to reference the permission Options in Reports, Workflows and Campaigns. To change the display, simply overtype the field label. Once completed select next button.
Sync Permission Statement and Privacy policies
Any Privacy Policies and Permission Statements already loaded to DataGuard will be automatically drawn down to Salesforce. If you wish to add or update either, do so in DataGuard and select the accompanying refresh button in Salesforce. Once completed select the next button.
Preferences
If you want to use preferences in addition to DataGuard permissions, these can be created in the [DataGuard Admin UI] (https://mylifedigital.readme.io/docs/preferences-configuration-management) and pulled into the setup wizard. If no preferences exist the Salesforce UI will inform you, and if you chose not to use them you can simply skip this step and click "finish".
Once completed, you will be taken to the application settings page.
