Claim default permissions

Default Claims

Some of our customers have a pre-defined set of non-consent permissions that are always claimed upon the start of a relationship with a new customer. Using templates it is possible to achieve this without need to call the DataGuard API for each customer.

How it Works

You must have a content template with reference citizen-creation-defaults which holds all of the permission options you wish to claim when the record is created.

Consents and preferences can be added to the template, but will NOT be claimed. The following lawful bases CAN be claimed:

  • Contract
  • Legal Obligation
  • Legitimate Interest
  • Public Interest
  • Vital Interest

Can I use it?

Yes. This feature is available to all, and is turned on by default in Sandbox. In order to enable it for your Production application please contact support.

Can I Disable?

Yes. You can achieve this by amending the template reference, or contact support to permanently disable on your behalf.

Can I Specify Different Permission Defaults?

Currently no. It is only possible to specify a blanket set of non-consent permissions that are claimed upon creation of the citizen record. If you wish to apply different subsets of permissions depending on an external trigger (e.g. type of customer) you need to integrate with our APIs to ensure the correct permissions are established.

Can I Set Default Preferences?

Currently no. It is only possible to specify a blanket set of non-consent permissions that are claimed upon creation of the citizen record.

🚧

No historic setting

Please note that this feature will not retrospectively apply transactions for records created historically. We recommend that new customers loading historic permissions enable this feature after the initial bulk load into DataGuard is complete.
